Web Based Administration Console

MailScan Administration Console can be accessed using a browser. MailScan's operations can be managed from a central location using the web administration tool enabling remote administration of the application.

MailScan scans all the emails in real-time for Viruses, Worms, Trojans, Adware and hidden malicious content at the Mail Server using powerful driven Dual Anti-Virus engines. Thus, online threats are averted before they enter the network via emails.

Powerful Anti-Spam and Anti-Phishing

MailScan stops Spamming and Phishing using a combination of technologies such as Non Intrusive Learning Patterns (NILP), Gray Listing, Real-time Black List (RBL), SURBL, General Header Tests, MX/A DNS Record Verification, Reverse DNS, X-Spam Rules Check and much more.

Real-time content scanning

All incoming and outgoing messages are scanned in real-time for offensive words and adult content, with the help of Security Policies. The advanced content scanning options allow you to specify restricted words or phrases in e-mails that should be detected by MailScan. E-mails with such words anywhere in the subject, body or tags can be deleted or quarantined.

Automated Threat Notifications

When a virus is detected in an e-mail or attachment, or when restricted words and phrases are found in the mail content, the mail can be deleted, quarantined or disinfected. MailScan provides you the option to send a customized notification to the sender, the intended recipient or others, informing them about the threat.

Compression and Decompression

Oversized files are compressed using standard file compressors with options for automatic decompression. MailScan can be configured to create 'EXE' files or self-extracting zip files that are automatically decompressed at the recipient's machine.

Self-Diagnosis / Troubleshooting

When the software encounters any problem in functioning, 'Send Debug Information' of eScan generates a file called 'debugs. zip'. eScan gives an option to send that Self Analysis along with a small description of the problem keyed in by the user to the MicroWorld support team, who identifies the cause of the issue and helps resolve it.

Blocking Image spam*

MailScan uses powerful in-built technologies to filter out image spam.

Greylisting

Mails from unknown senders are temporarily rejected, as most spamming servers do not try to send the same mails again if rejected for the first time. In case, the mail is legitimate, the originating server re-attempts to send the mail, which is then accepted.

Attachment Filtering

Attachments having file extensions such as EXE, COM, CHM or BAT can be blocked from being sent or received.

Relay Control

This module prohibits spammers from using your organization's IP addresses to send spam.

Extensive Report

It provides advanced analytical reports in graphical and non-graphical formats.
